About the role
Lead stores, inventory accuracy, and shop-floor material flow at our Umargam plant. The mandate is to move from a manual stores operation to a systems-led, accurate, predictable inventory function — the foundation for scaling production output toward our ₹500 Cr target.
Apt person for this role
Best suited for a stores and inventory leader who can bring discipline, accuracy, and systems thinking to a hands-on manufacturing environment. This person should be comfortable with ERP hygiene, FIFO, cycle counts, shop-floor material flow, and building a reliable stores function as production scales.
What you'll own
- Day-to-day stores operations — receipts, issues, location management, security
- Inventory accuracy through cycle counts and FIFO discipline
- Stock-out prevention through min-max planning with Procurement
- ERP hygiene — system stock matches physical stock
- Shop-floor material flow — right part, right place, right time
- Build a small team as the function scales
What we're looking for
Required
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma — Engineering, Materials Management, or Operations
- 6+ years running stores in a machine-building or manufacturing setup
- ERP-comfortable (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar)
- Working knowledge of FIFO, cycle counting, and inventory KPIs
- Comfortable on the shop floor — this is a hands-on role
- Willing to be based in Umargam (or relocate)
Preferred
- Experience implementing or improving an ERP-led stores process
- Background in capital equipment or plastics machinery manufacturing
- Lean or 5S exposure
How we'll measure success
| Metric | Target |
|---|---|
| Inventory accuracy (system vs physical) | ≥ 98% |
| Stock-out incidents on production-critical items | Zero per quarter |
| Cycle-count completion on A-class items | 100% quarterly |
Why this role
- Build the stores function for a manufacturer scaling 8x over 5 years
- Senior seat with eventual team build-out
- Direct reporting to the Engineering Manager
