About the role
Own PLC programming and HMI development for Machinecraft's thermoforming machines. Mitsubishi is our primary platform. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with electrical and mechanical engineers from concept through commissioning, and on customer sites for complex installs.
Apt person for this role
Best suited for a senior PLC programmer who likes owning machine behavior from ladder logic to HMI usability and commissioning. This person should be strong on Mitsubishi platforms, motion control, troubleshooting, customer-site commissioning, and building reusable standards for a growing controls function.
What you'll own
- Develop and debug ladder logic for thermoforming machines on Mitsubishi PLCs (GX Works2/3)
- Design and build HMI screens in GT Designer with operator-first usability
- Define I/O architecture in partnership with electrical design
- Lead commissioning at the Umargam plant and on customer sites
- Support the service team on field troubleshooting for installed machines
- Maintain a standard library of reusable program modules across machine families
What we're looking for
Required
- B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related
- 6+ years of hands-on Mitsubishi PLC programming and HMI development
- Strong fundamentals in ladder logic, motion control, and analog signal handling
- Comfortable commissioning machines at customer sites
- Willing to travel up to 30% during peak commissioning seasons
- Willing to be based in Umargam (or relocate)
Preferred
- Prior experience with thermoforming or any plastics processing machinery
- Knowledge of servo drives and motion programming
- Exposure to industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT)
